About me

Hello there beautiful people, my name is Mick Hakkert, I was born in June 1996. Yes, that makes me the youngest, long haired, sexy guitar player of this band.

I picked my first guitar up at the age of 10, but took it seriously when I was around 15 years old. I first had classical guitar lessons. But after a while I knew something was missing, I needed an electric guitar, overdrive, distortion and an amplifier!  This was also the moment when I started to listen to heavier music, Guns 'n Roses, AC/DC, Wolfmother etc...

But then there was this one day I found out about the guys from KoRn……
Fuck! This was the moment I realized that I am a metalhead as well. Very soon after that, I bought my first 7-string guitar and started learning all the heavy dropped tuned music I knew and could play at the time.

After doing a lot of practicing in my room and ignoring my parents and neighbors, I was ready to search for other metal musicians who shared the same music taste as I did and start a band, there was only one problem…

I grew up in Amsterdam. “Oh Amsterdam! How cool!’’ you may think… Yes, it is a great city, but not for a metal guitar player who is searching for band members. The Metal scene is dead there, a lot of indie pop bands but nope… Not really a metal scene.

I always felt like the black sheep in my friend group, music wise. Besides that, I never lost my love for metal music and never stopped listening and playing it!

There was this one day in 2020 somebody told me about a band from Alkmaar who were looking for a new guitar player. Sent a message to the band and auditioned. This was Storm of Silence (later changed to SEROTONIA)  and yes I got hired. After a corona break, and different band members changes, I did my first show with this band in October 2022.

I always had faith in this band and the music, till this day I am happy that I never quit this band, because now with this new setting I know we are going to conquer the world!!

I love the different sub-genres we include in our music. Nonetheless, it’s the perfect way to play from your emotions. Happiness, anger, sadness, you name it. Everything's working!

“Our drinking team has a music problem” - Mick Hakkert
